So far I'm not missing Facebook at all. I haven't found much reclaimed time yet, but the past few days I have had some meetings after work. The next few days will be the big test. ;) Here's my friend's post on the subject: http://mamarae.weebly.com/oh-happy-day/dear-faceboook-its-over-its-not-me-its-youTimdanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14293450220460334365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7250022360971344067.post-37165812656109160992015-10-20T17:38:29.369-04:002015-10-20T17:38:29.369-04:00So far no issue with not checking in. :) I did hav...So far no issue with not checking in. :) I did have someone respond to a message though. Hopefully they go back and read that I'm taking a break. I will respond to your e-mail later tonight.Timdanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14293450220460334365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7250022360971344067.post-79037775392139384932015-10-20T06:59:07.032-04:002015-10-20T06:59:07.032-04:00ps. Today someone on my blog sent me this link, a rather awesome (and somewhat frightening) account of why this person broke up with social media: http://www.alexandrafranzen.com/2015/08/19/why-i-do-not-use-social-media-anymore/Naomi Bulgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11325314562075604808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7250022360971344067.post-16136106661177170292015-10-20T06:56:31.714-04:002015-10-20T06:56:31.714-04:00Good luck!! Like you, I am nervous, especially about feeling "out of the loop" from things. For me, I have decided that I will need to be the proactive one, to reach out to my friends who I will no longer see on social media. Call them, send them an email, write them a letter. I think (I hope!) they will appreciate that, and that it will mean so much more to them because it takes so much more thought and effort than hitting "like" on their latest status or photograph. I am hoping to re-train myself to connect, and to value depth in relationships. Big hugs to you for your bravery. Here's hoping that this is a positive, freeing step for both of us. xNaomi Bulgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11325314562075604808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7250022360971344067.post-8683943660091358382015-10-18T18:00:22.825-04:002015-10-18T18:00:22.825-04:00GIRL, you've SO inspired me to do my own post ...GIRL, you've SO inspired me to do my own post on this and I am SO excited to write it. Every single thing you shared here is true. As a 2 x FB breaker upper, I can assure you- you will not miss it. Well, I mean, you will miss it at first. For awhile. But then you will find this awesome freedom in not being tied down to status updates and likes... but instead, you will actually be LIVING and enjoying your life! :) And FB will soon be an afterthought. You can do this, homie! :) I am totally cheering for you. I need to reply to your email, and intend to do so tonight. :) If you need any help with your FB break (accountability, just wanna check in, feel lonely) MESSAGE me! I'll be there for you. :) <-- sing it!Ashleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06808241546237861895noreply@blogger.com
