ICAD #5- Galaxy. This was my first attempt at painting. I had another ideas about the stars but I made a mistake so I had to do something different. I was hoping for a paint splatter effect but I basically ended up painting my finger instead..lol
ICAD#6- Nail polish
I created this card by marbling nail polish and then dipping my card in a few times. I like it. One of the polishes was a sparkly purple so it looks glittery in person.
I also experimented with gesso, adding texture and preparing some backgrounds for future cards. I'm having a lot of fun with this challenge. If any of my other pals struggle with creativity, I would recommend trying to do something like this!

ICAD4
The prompt was puzzle. This was inspired by my penpal Belinda who always sends a variety of stamps on her letters. I decided to make a puzzle/collage out of a few stamps hanging around. The stamps are from South Africa, the Netherlands and the US.

ICAD3 (and 3.1)
Here is my index card today:
I hated it. I liked the ribbon showing through but I chose 2 patterns that looked horrible together. Here is a redo that I like a lot better:
It's been interesting. The prompt was "My name is..."
Are any of you guys mail art people? What are some good background suggestions?

Ducks in the Netherlands. We seem to have a lot of these here too. The one I see most is the Mallard (2nd down) I have never seen #15 for sure! Thanks! My apologies for taking a few days to register it.
Another beauty from Germany! This is an old fashioned mailbox. I wish my mailbox looked like this. Mine is rather sad looking. Andre sent this to me. My apologies for taking a long time to register it.
Trakai Castle card+ China card
Here's one of the postcrossing cards I was talking about. It is of Trakai Castle in Lithuania. I would love to see it in person one day!
This card is from Raphaella in China. It is traditional dress in China. The back of the card is also beautifully decorated but I'm going to save that for myself :) I will send Raphaella a card tomorrow.
I LOVE connecting with people all over the world. If any of my friends love to learn, I would highly recommend Postcrossing!

ICAD2+ letters/Postcrossing cards
This is my second Index card a Day card. I'm not artistic so I was actually pretty pleased with my circus tent. The prompt was "Circus tent" (I'm also really creative like that..lol) I doodled with pen and used glitter (my friend Diana would be super proud.)
ICAD2:
I also received a letter from Belinda, one of my penpals from South Africa, and 2 Postcrossing cards. I will post the cards tomorrow. (They are from China and Lithuania) Have a great day!

Index Card a Day challenge- card 1
Hello! It has been too long. My creativity outside of work has not been really being used so I decided to challenge myself with the Index Card a Day challenge. Anyone who knows me well will know that I am pretty insecure about anything related to visual art. So... here's my 1st card. The art prompt they gave was "Prism." Don't expect anything fantastic, but it will be great for me to force myself out of my comfort zone.
I miss blogging and writing more. I will really jump back in when I'm on summer break. I have been diagnosed with "golfer's elbow" and told to completely rest my arm for 8 weeks. With my job, I can't rest my arm. (I'm a music teacher) So, I'm taking it easy- which means, less conducting, playing, typing, writing and carrying. I feel very disconnected. I'll try to do some short blog entries within the next few weeks.
Here's my attempt with ICAD #1:
I used crayon, pencil and then a paint for sun catchers on top of the crayon.
